Wiedersum Associates Architects, PLLC is a full-service architectural firm whose innovative building designs have significantly influenced the educational, cultural, and social communities of Long Island and the metropolitan New York area for over 82 years.

Established in 1926 by Mr. Frederic P. Wiedersum — an architect with a vision for bettering the quality of the educational environment by designing functional structures that served both the students and community — completed his first notable project, the Valley Stream Central High School, back in 1929. The second outstanding educational institution, Wellington-Mepham High School in the Bellmore-Merrick District, came five years later and set the tone for secondary educational facilities throughout North American and Europe. Some seventy years later, both schools maintain their unique majestic appearance, as well as structural integrity and infrastructure functionality.

The Wiedersum organization is one of the oldest family-owned architectural firms in the United States. Currently under the direction of the third and fourth generations of architects, Mr. Richard C. Wiedersum and his son, Richard W. are continuing the family tradition of providing excellence in the field of planning and design for their diversified clientele, regardless of the size or nature of the assignment. In over eight decades, the Wiedersum organization has designed well over 1600 major projects for the public and private sectors. Several have earned national awards or received recognition for outstanding design.

In 2001, Mr. Edward R. Casper was made a principal of the firm, and today shares the design and management responsibilities of the firm. Wiedersum Associates presently maintains an in-house staff of 40 professionals, including 16 Registered Architects at our headquarters. The remainder of our staff is comprised of CADD operators/draftspersons, specification writers, interior designers, a code and quality control specialist, field operatives, and support personnel.

Wiedersum Associates Architects, PLLC is a Professional Limited Liability Company licensed to practice architecture in New York State. The firm carries substantial professional liability insurance and general liability coverage, as required by most of our clients.
